Halloween Costume 2009 -- Begins!

Yeah, it’s August and I’m designing my Halloween costume. I’m having a big party this year—finally! I’ve been waiting for a Halloween-Eve to be on a Friday and it finally happened!

Since the theme is “Dancing in the Graveyard” with live music and me being a ghost hunter, it seemed appropriate to go as a ghost hunter. But, I didn't want to just be any ordinary ghost hunter. I wanted something like "Resident Evil" meets post-apocalyptic ghost hunter chic (above photos are inspirations)

So far, I’ve ordered some Army surplus things like a strap-on canvas wrench holder to wear on my thigh strap and put a piece of ghost hunting equipment in, a Desert Storm brown long scarf to wrap around me, and some totally bitchin’ tiny round welding looking goggles. I’m hoping to find some good straps like are used on canteens and such for all the wrap around straps to hold the ghost hunting equipment. Of course, this Halloween I’ll have to get a shot of me in it once it’s all put together.

If anyone has any good input, please give it. I’m baffled how to get some of these looks to come across, especially the brown knit hose that are cut into garters. I like them—very sexy, just not sure how to go about it…

Suggestions always welcome.

(Wish I had some suggestions for you with your costume dilemma...but I don't. If anything comes to me I'll let you know though.)

  2. Can't wait to see some pics! I've got a soft spot for heavily-armed female monster fighters.
If you invite me, I'll let you borrow some..."props"! LOL!

  3. You know, Gummer, I almost wanted to change the theme of the party to a post-apocalyptic graveyard theme instead. I think that show "The Colony" is heavily influencing my fashion choices. Hee hee :-)
